Trying to Blog in an Enshitified Landscape

Anyone who has followed me for any length of time knows I've had a terrible time finding a landing spot for this blog. I've moved it everywhere and places like here at Ghost multiple times. I keep coming back to ghost because its the easiest to use, but it can be expensive.

Right now I'm on a cheap trial with my shopify store, but that runs out in a couple months when the price goes up to almost 40 a month. I remember when I could run a nice SEO friendly store front and blog for less than 20.00 a month. Now it costs almost 40 each.

Shopify does have its own blogging set up, but its clunky and weird and I hate using it and readers hate reading it. So I'm back here for now until I decide which way I want to go.

I added subscriptions to this post because I'd like to see if I can get a few people to sign up. I was running google ads on my Shopify but that made the site look ugly and pays literal pennies.

My Facebook page is monetized and that may be my best bet in getting some basic cashflow in edition to getting people over here and hopefully some signups. We'll see how it all goes. Maybe I'm trying to do too much but I want to get this going and make a living from my art and blogging, they kind of go hand in hand. Here is some of my most recent art

If you like those you can find prints on my Shopify page. I try to keep prices low, but the hard part when everything is behind paywalls and costs are up is everyone is broke right now. I've been told the key is consistency and I like to believe that, but everything is overstaturated right now and trying to stand out at all is rough, but all we can do is show up each day and do our best and see where it takes us.

I should have been doing my paid paralegal work this morning, but I was kind of fixated on this project so I spent the last few hours messing with it. Hopefully it will be worth it, but all I can do is keep going. Maybe changing things all the time isn't the picture of consistency but it is what it is. In the meantime I hope you all stick with me and see where this all leads. Feel free to sign up for free. Most of my posts will be public for the time being. And everyone is welcome!

So stick around, look around and lets see what kind of trouble we can get into.
